The guide offers a space to think, explore how school boards work, and ask questions about the process of running — without any expectation that you are ready to decide.
You can use the guide to reflect privately through guided prompts, explore how governance and elections work, or type your own questions and receive immediate, plain-language responses. The experience is nonpartisan and focused on understanding the role, not persuading you to run.

School board election polls open from 7am to 8pm.
DEADLINE for voters to return voted school board election absentee ballots to the Department of Elections County Office conducting the election.
Almost every district has a seat open in 2026.
