Welcome to the Knowledge Hub: A New Era of Support for Delaware’s School Board Members
At First State Educate (FSE), we believe that strong school board leadership is the cornerstone of student success. That’s why we’re excited to officially introduce the Knowledge Hub—a new digital platform designed to provide Delaware’s school board members with the training, tools, and peer connection they need to lead with confidence.
Whether you’re newly elected or a seasoned member looking to deepen your impact, the Knowledge Hub offers a space to learn, collaborate, and stay informed. It’s a one-stop resource tailored to the real challenges and opportunities of governance in Delaware’s public schools.
What is the Knowledge Hub?
The Knowledge Hub is a statewide, members-only platform where school board members can:
Access on-demand training courses on key governance topics
Participate in live sessions with experts and fellow board members
Connect through discussion forums and special interest groups
Track their learning and receive digital certificates or microcredentials
It’s designed for practical use—grounded in Delaware law and policy, informed by national best practices, and responsive to the lived realities of board service.
Spotlight: The New Onboarding Course
To help newly elected board members hit the ground running, the Knowledge Hub features a signature course: “Stepping In: Understanding Your Role as a School Board Member.”
This self-paced course walks new members through the essentials of effective governance, including:
What board members are responsible for—and what they’re not
How to collaborate with fellow board members and superintendents
The basics of public accountability, budgeting, policy, and ethics
Real-world scenarios that help new members navigate tough situations
With a welcoming tone and interactive design, this course isn’t just about information—it’s about building confidence, setting clear expectations, and establishing a strong foundation for the years ahead.
Why This Matters
School board members make decisions that shape everything from classroom experience to long-term student outcomes. Yet too often, they step into the role without structured support. The Knowledge Hub changes that.
By investing in the professional development of board members, we’re investing in the future of Delaware’s public schools. We’re helping leaders lead—and we’re doing it together.
Ready to explore?
If you’re a board member or education leader in Delaware, we invite you to log in, explore the Hub, and experience what’s possible when school board training is reimagined for today’s needs.
