Primo Scholars Program
Advancing African American Leadership in School Governance
The Primo Scholars Program is a scholarship opportunity created in partnership with the African American Empowerment Fund of Delaware, in honor of Quintin E. Primo Jr. This initiative provides full funding for a nationally recognized executive education program in school board leadership.
It is designed to equip currently serving African American school board members in Delaware with tools to strengthen their governance, lead with equity, and build lasting community impact.
What Scholars Receive:
Full tuition for an executive leadership training program
Access to a national network of education leaders
Growth in equity-centered governance, budgeting, data use, and strategic planning
Opportunities to mentor others and serve as public advocates for African American leadership in education
Why It Matters
Representation matters. The Primo Scholars Program aims to build a stronger, more diverse leadership pipeline in Delaware’s public schools by investing in the experience, voice, and influence of African American board members.
Together, we’re shaping a future where school governance reflects the strength and diversity of our communities.
