Volunteer with First State Educate
Delaware’s students deserve excellent public schools.
Strong school board leadership makes that possible, and volunteers play a crucial role in helping communities stay informed, engaged, and connected.
FSE’s Volunteer Corps is a statewide team of people who want to support better decision-making for kids. You don’t need policy experience. You just need to care and be willing to show up.
What Volunteers Do
Volunteers help strengthen school board engagement across the state by supporting:
Community Outreach
Inviting friends, families, and neighbors to FSE events and school board discussions.
Meeting Support
Attending meetings, sharing information, or helping others understand what’s on the agenda.
Communications
Helping FSE tell Delaware’s story through writing, sharing updates, or helping translate board work into everyday language.
General Support
Pitching in where needed with simple, flexible projects that connect more people to the work.
Who Can Volunteer
Anyone who cares about Delaware’s public schools:
Parents and caregivers
Educators
Community members
Business and Community Leaders
No special training required, we will give you the context and tools you need.
When more people are informed and involved, school boards make better decisions. Volunteers help ensure that community needs, family voices, and student experiences are reflected in public conversations.
Your time, even a small amount, helps move Delaware closer to the schools our students deserve.
