The next round of Capacity Grants and Primo Scholars will give school board members another opportunity to strengthen their leadership, explore solutions to local challenges, and turn learning into meaningful action.

Capacity Building Grants

For school board members ready to turn their ideas into action.

Capacity Grants support projects that strengthen school board leadership and governance, deepen community engagement, address district-specific challenges, and support improved student outcomes. Previous materials allowed awards of up to $2,000, although that amount should be confirmed for the 2027 cycle.

Great for ideas involving:

  • Board governance and effectiveness

  • Community engagement

  • Student achievement

  • Literacy or STEM

  • Professional learning

  • New tools, systems, or approaches

Primo Scholars

For school board members ready to deepen their leadership.

Primo Scholars are African American school board members committed to equity, strong governance, and opportunity for every student.
